Our Featured Teachers

I started taking piano lessons in elementary school and began teaching lessons when I was 14.  I played in my middle school's orchestra until graduation.  Today, I mostly love to play jazz, rags, and blues on the piano.  Also, I am currently a sophomore at UCCS studying biomedical science, and I am Army ROTC Cadet!

Hi!  My name is Jeff and I'm a full-time professional drummer and guitar player, and have been touring and performing all over the country the past 15 years.  I've played with Rock and roll Hall of Fame members, and have also built my own original music.  I have been trusted to hold down the rhythm section numerous times in high-pressure performances.

In my teaching, I bring high attention to detail on all aspects of playing music, which lends itself to building a strong foundation for musicians at any level.

I've been playing for about 8 years now and have been self taught for 5.  I am mainly focused on teaching music theory to beginner and intermediate students.

I have 27 years of experience with the guitar, mainly acoustic. I’ve played jazz, country, folk, alternative rock and acoustic rock. I studied music performance at Northwest College in Powell, WY. I also have a decade of experience with piano.

I try to bring a fun and adaptive approach to my teaching and use both curriculum and more of a freeform methodology to my lessons. I have taught a wide range of ages and students in my 7 years of teaching with Accent Music. I look forward to working with you!

I have extensive experience playing drums as a touring musician and a session musician.  Formally trained in Hollywood, CA at Musicians Institute, I spent years living and gigging in LA, while sharing the stage with Stevie Wonder, John Legend, and John Mayer, and even appearing on MTV and Telemundo, before deciding to join the army as a musician for the 101st Airborne Division’s rock band.  Living in such close proximity, I enjoyed many weekends gigging in Nashville and working with Jim Riley (Rascal Flatts) and Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean) as well as live stage coach Tom Jackson and vocal coach to the stars, Brett Manning.  Never one to rest, I took the opportunity to become a helicopter pilot as a Warrant Officer in the US Army, which I've continued today as my current “day job”, and it allows me to pursue my passion of music on my own terms.  I have experience playing drums as well as guitar, bass, a little piano in various bands and studios throughout the years and I enjoy teaching when I'm not writing, recording, producing, and mastering in my own

 home recording studio.

Gil Clark grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts surrounded by music. From playing cello in local orchestras to playing guitar and bass in jazz and rock groups, Gil has had an eclectic taste and diverse musical experiences since he was young. In 2014, he moved to Colorado for college, and earned his Bachelor's degree in jazz guitar performance from the University of Colorado, Denver in 2018. While studying under some of Denver's greatest jazz musicians at UCD including Sean McGowan, Dan Schwindt, and Bill Kopper, Gil found a voice on the guitar all his own. He has played across the state and country with his Folk/Bluegrass group Avenhart, and fills his weekends with various performances in a variety of settings. When he's not performing, Gil fills his days with teaching music. He believes that every student is unique and strives to find the most effective ways to help his students grow. Gil teaches guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, and piano. His favorite styles are jazz, blues, rock, hip-hop, R&B, reggae, bluegrass, folk, gospel, and classical.

Note about our teachers

For many of our teachers, this is a part-time position doing something that they are truly passionate about.  We would love to keep them in the Accent Music family forever, however, these talented individuals sometimes receive full-time offers that allows them to move onto bigger and better things.  We completely understand and wish them nothing but the best!

However, this means that your teacher might no longer be available to provide quality music lessons for you.  When situations like this arise,  please know that Accent Music employs more than three dozen highly experienced music teachers around Colorado and Phoenix and we will do our best to ensure another highly qualified teacher is available to pick up right where your last teacher left off!  The last thing we want to do is interrupt the progress that you or your student have achieved and will do whatever it takes to ensure you have a positive music lesson experience.
